Jd LaCroix is a professional illustrator and designer working in Turin, Italy. His main focus is to develop landscapes and chimeras from other worlds, investigating the boundaries between wake reality and the dream state. His works have been and are shown at various venues in Italy, and he’s constantly looking for interesting collaborations with musicians, directors, writers and so on. He released illustrations, comics, art posters in a huge collection of fine art and brain surgeries.
Also, Jd LaCroix is the well know mind behind the TMK musical monger, a more than 15 years sonic inspector dealing with sound and magick. Started as a progressive/avant-garde extreme metal phenomenon, the Textbook of Modern Karate (formerly known as Thee Maldoror Kollective) evolved into a multi-dimensional experience and very much a statement rather than just a musical journey.
Combining creative sampling with noir & crime jazz inputs, post-industrial structures & psychedelica, metal spikes & blues adagios, classical interferences with ambient scenarios, the TMK constantly work in progress attitude has become a critical acclaimed radical reality intended to shift amongst cultural paradigms and musical languages.
Actually, JD is writing for a bunch of comics that will hoepfully see the light in 2010, delaing with cyberpunk, magick, and human anomalies. Also, he joined the Pornsaints collective, an international group of visual artists developing a more artistic approach to alternative porn.
