SA: Please introduce yourself…
MX: I am Gianfranco, sailor-farmer-latin/lover-musician from western sicily. My band is called MARI X. We are playin' indie rock, maybe just indie, maybe just rock n roll.. it's not easy to explain .. so we play...
SA: What you are looking for with your music?
MX: Girls. And ears.
SA: Would you like to present all of your song with few words
MX: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. NO: we invite you to listen to ALL of our 2 records: "...New Trippers" and "Due". You're welcome & and it will be more easy for you to understand [instead reading my stupid words].
SA: Is your way to do music evolving? How? MX: Yes, sure. Glass after glass.
SA: Is your way live anything but music evolving? How?
MX: YES, of course: Britney Spears, DJ Francesco and many more... ... ... ... I'm kidding > books are very used in Mari X. movies too. And we love people....we should continue forever
SA: Would you like to speak about the city where do you live?
MX: We're living in Petrosino, Palermo & Belmonte Mezzagno (west Sicily, ITALY).
So, Petrosino is a sad sea-place with nothing inside but it's perfect in order to create music. Oh, and using drugs too.
Palermo is a sad-city-place where is possible to f*ck a lot, make live shows, u know, eat "stigghiola" and using drugs.
Belmonte Mezzagno is a sad-mountain-place where is possible JUST using drugs.
Anyway those are very beautiful places, are true expressions of Sicily that is an amazing place but i'm dreaming a Sicily without sicilians.
SA: Do you live with music?
MX: Yes, sometimes I think that music lives with us, but I wonder how can it lives with us without money?!?!?
SA: Since years you are friends with each others, do you want say anything about?
MX: OK, we are 3 different people with 3 different lives and 3 different places of birth&living, but we are the same soul with our music. It means that we are true friends, and we share a lot of nights together, a lot of beds, a lot of bathrooms, toilets, autogrills .. .. women .. .. and more.
I love them.
SA: Can you tell us some story occurred during your tours?
MX: After one of last shows we met a RAT, in the middle of historical centre of Isernia. The cool thing is that the rat was "trained". We were drunk and it was incredible to see the rat dancing with me, playing with our friends, jumping near my feet (2-3 times he tried to bite me) and for an half an hour we played with HIM and walking people can't believe that and asked "is the rat yours?!?".
And the rat started dancing with others members of the band and HE continued to making that special games. At the end I said: ...but he didn't, and he chose the main street. HE wasn't a rat, I guess. And nobody believes me.
SA: Can you give us a playlist of 30 records to listen with your child?
