And this is the case of the Catalan artist Pep Bou that has introduced his last show “ Clar de llunes skin-deep concert”, having made his début in June in Barcellona and then in France a one-off for Italy in Palermo at the Metropolitan Theatre, on March 26 and 27.
Re-baptized as “Buster Keaton of the biodegradable ", the magician of the soap bubbles with the pianist Jordi Masò, has given to the public of Palermo some moments of intense lyricism of enchantment and splendour through this concert – show that combines musical and chromatic sonorities in one iridescent and suggestive game.
Architect education, passionate about visual arts, Pep Bou threads the boards since the Sixties as mime and actor. He has founded different companies, Pa de Ral, the Viu Viu Teatre, but in 1982 he begins the way that will bring him through his "bombolles de sabò" that make him interpreter of the suggestions and the atmospheres of the "New Circus."
In fact the soap bubbles become real characters in its shows, whose unpredictability is tamed by its creator, that establishes with his "bombolles" a delicate and dense dialogue of humour.
The bubbles take life, shapeless and changing, declare their complicity to their creator in the direct performance with the great mastery of Pep Bou.
The lights play an important role: by reflecting on the surfaces of the bubbles they give back images full of bright colours to finally explode in exciting visions.
The delicacy of its show is made also thanks to the elegance of the Catalan artist that turns even the simple gesture of lighting a cigarette into poetry.
Oh yes, because Pep doesn't stop only to the creation of giant bubbles, able to change form, to follow him while he is walking and to reflect changing and bright colours, but also it injects to their inside smoke of cigarette and vapor.
Here that we see flying in the air lots of bubbles white of smoke that bounce or twist in the air!
Here that a simple umbrella moved by the skilled hands of the Catalan teacher becomes a tool to make the bubbles skip and it seems that they chase each other!
Here again the image of Pep that duplicates and colours in the reflex of the mirror realized with water and soap!
Here that finally the magician gets into a puddle of water and soap and creates the most amazing and great bubbles that we have ever seen, so big to contain him in their inside!
Visual poetry and sonorous poetry: the visual language melts with the musical language through the piano of Jordi Masò that interprets a classical repertoire that ranges over the Clar de moons of Debussy , Frederic Mompou, Gabriel Faurè and Joaquin Turina.
The notes wrap up the transparent figures that whirl in the air dancing, and the piano accompanies and defines the visual part orchestrated by the magician Pep Bou.
All finally is enriched by amusing video intervals where we find again the artist whose dimensions are reduced to a little finger, hopping among the keys of a piano or still almost hung to the edge of the screen on the point of falling and finally he says goodbye at the conclusion of the show.
Full theatre and public satisfied by a show that won't stop to move all till the end and it will leave a sweet enchantment in our eyes and a big desire to take back in our hand that ephemeral game of our infancy.
At the end of the exhibition Bou also gives us one thought about the actual state of the planet, fragile as a bubble, that has to be protected and he adds with an ironic tone that “the airplanes of the world leaders rather than bombs should launch bubbles of soap."
Pep tells us about the child that is inside each of us and asks us to guard him and to protect him,

E’ questo il caso dell’artista catalano Pep Bou, che ha presentato il suo ultimo spettacolo “ Clar de llunes concerto a fior di pelle”, dopo aver debuttato a giugno a Barcellona e poi in Francia, in esclusiva per l’Italia a Palermo, al teatro Metropolitan di viale Strasburgo, nei giorni 26 e 27 marzo.
Ribatezzato in Francia il “Buster Keaton del biodegradabile”, il mago delle bolle di sapone insieme al pianista Jordi Masò, ha donato al pubblico palermitano momenti di intensa liricità, di incanto e splendore attraverso questo concerto - spettacolo, che unisce sonorità musicali e cromatiche in un gioco iridescente e suggestivo.
Formazione di architetto, appassionato di arti visive, Pep Bou calca le scene sin dagli anni sessanta come mimo e attore. Diverse sono state le compagnie da lui fondate, Pa de Ral, la Viu Viu Teatre, ma nel 1982 inizia il suo percorso che lo porterà attraverso le sue “bombolles de sabò” a farsi interprete delle suggestioni e delle atmosfere del «Nuovo Circo».
Infatti le bolle di sapone diventano veri e propri personaggi nei suoi spettacoli, la cui imprevedibilità viene domata dal suo creatore, che instaura con le sue “bombolles”
un dialogo delicato e denso di humour.
Le bolle prendono vita, informi e cangianti, dichiarono la loro complicità al loro creatore nella performance diretta con grande maestria da Pep Bou.
Le luci giocano un ruolo importante, riflettendo sulle superfici delle bolle restituiscono
immagini cariche di colori brillanti, per esplodere infine in visioni emozionanti.
La delicatezza del suo spettacolo è resa anche grazie all’eleganza dell’artista catalano che
trasforma persino il semplice gesto dell’accendere una sigaretta in poesia.
E si, perché Pep non si ferma solo alla creazione di bolle giganti, capaci di cambiare forma, seguirlo mentre cammina, riflettere colori luminosi e mutevoli, ma inietta al loro interno fumo di sigaretta e vapore.
Ecco allora che vediamo volare numerose bolle colorate, o bianche di fumo, che rimbalzano o trottolano nell’aria!
Ecco che un semplice ombrello mosso dalle abili mani del maestro catalano diviene strumento per far saltellare le bolle che sembra giochino a rincorrersi!
Ecco ancora l’immagine di Pep che si duplica e si colora nel riflesso di uno specchio realizzato con acqua e sapone!
Ecco infine il mago entrare in una pozza di acqua e sapone e creare le più strabilianti e grandi bolle che abbiamo mai visto, tali da poterlo racchiudere al loro interno!
Poesia visiva e poesia sonora: il linguaggio visivo si fonde col linguaggio musicale attraverso il piano di Jordi Masò che interpreta un repertorio classico che spazia dal Clar de lune di Debussy a Frederic Mompou, da Gabriel Faurè a Joaquin Turina.
Le note avvolgono le figure trasparenti che volteggiano in aria danzando, e la parte pianistica accompagna e definisce la partitura visiva orchestrata dal mago Pep Bou.
Il tutto infine viene arrichito da divertenti intermezzi video dove ritroviamo l’artista, le cui dimensioni sono ridotte ad un mignolo, saltellante tra i tasti di un pianoforte, o ancora appeso al bordo dello schermo quasi sul punto di cadere, e infine salutarci alla conclusione dello spettacolo.
Teatro pieno e pubblico soddisfatto da uno spettacolo che non finirà di emozionare per tutta la sua durata e che alla fine lascerà un dolce incanto nei nostri occhi e una gran voglia di riprendere in mano quell’effimero gioco della nostra infanzia.
Alla fine dell’esibizione Bou ci regala anche una sua riflessione circa l’attuale stato del pianeta, fragile come una bolla, che deve essere protetto, e aggiunge in tono ironico
che "gli aerei dei capi del mondo anzichè bombe dovrebbero lanciare bolle di sapone".
Pep ci parla del bambino che è dentro ciascuno di noi e ci chiede di custodirlo e proteggerlo, e questo è un invito che accogliamo più che volentieri.. Grazie Pep.
