The main physical areas of the body that need work are: upper back, shoulder, arms and wrists. Therefore our warm up will concentrate on all these areas.
YOGA into HANDSTAND Workshop (Adho Mukha Vrkshasan)
Diane Busuttil is an expert of the handstand. Being an x-circus performer and a highly disciplined yoga practitioner encourage her students to strive for the same strength and balance that she so gracefully executes.
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of a handstand ie: strength and stability. We acquire these attributes through technique, body awareness and the correct use of breathe in movement. The main physical areas of the body that need work are: upper back, shoulder, arms and wrists. Therefore our warm up will concentrate on all these areas.
In preparation for class, please empty the bowels and have an empty stomach for yoga practice. Women who are menstruating should not do inversion poses. If you are pregnant you should not try these for the first time without previous experience.

We will do partner assisted strength training and basic acrobatic work leading into improvisational scores to create self devised movement material in groups and solos.
This class is about discovering your own way of moving through playful exercises in pairs, groups and alone.
