Press Quotes:

At one point, Diane Busuttil walks towards and into the audience, offering with eyes and gestures, a peculiar, alien, glutinous sort of feeling. Her look is not seductive, although it might appear that way at first, as her gaze is intent, and it’s hard not to respond. But looking closely, that intensity deepens to a cavernous, black-widowy, primitive, estranging dimension hard to imagine, both repulsive and magnetic. And it’s just as hard to look as not to look.
Reel Time, Australia, by Eleanor Brickhill.

Lastly, Diane Busuttil who can currently be seen in Theatre Junction’s On The Side of the Road continues to explore the weird and the wondrous with her film Dirt and Desire which will screen on Saturday, May 30th prior to Bruce LaBruce’s equally disturbing feature Otto; Or Up With Dead People, a gay zombie love story he filmed in Germany. Busuttil’s film was also shot in Germany and features Busuttil as the lovely hostess of a potato orgy that goes from weird to revolting in under 5 minutes. “When Diane asked me what the committee thought of her film, I told her we were all thoroughly disgusted,” Salton says. “She couldn’t have been more pleased!”

Festival Preview by Spencer Tyler, Calgary Canada

In this second parody of concert dance, the cast, having re-entered seriously, dressed in black, sit with their assorted orchestral instruments, and produce a Cageian symphony for a solo dancer, equally sever and affected. This morphs into a scat singing duet, and then a frightening/funny scat screaming solo by formerly sweet Shirley Temple-esque Diane Busuttil—while she beats on Nir De-Volff, nearly twice her size. Her descent into hysterical madness is complete; and she takes the audience down with her.
