The projects featured in the exhibition have been chosen for both their quality and exemplarity. They answer several prevailing landscaping issues, ranging from territorial reorganisation and the restoration of depleted sites, to the unveiling of historical and natural sites. All of the projects occupy the same common stance: that the transformation of wide landscapes is an act of culture, a way of seeing the world, or simply an expression of hope.

Choisis pour leur qualité et leur exemplarité, les projets documentés par l'exposition répondent à des problématiques paysagères diverses, à composantes multiples: réorganisation territoriale, implantation forestière, revitalisation de rivières, réaménagement de berges ou de quais de fleuve, restructuration urbaine, reconversion industrielle, restauration de sites dégradés ou encore révélation de sites naturels et historiques. Tous relèvent de cette position commune: le grand paysage conçu et réaménagé comme acte de culture, comme vision du monde ou encore comme espoir.

Cette exposition "Grands Paysages d’Europe", présentée d'abord à Lanzarote, puis à Lausanne, a été réalisée par Lorette Coen à l’initiative d’une importante institution espagnole, la Fondation César Manrique.
