Forgotten Things, Red Ladder Theatre Company
Nationally renowed UK theatre company Red Ladder bring their outstanding new darly comic play Forgotten Things to The Carriageworks in Leeds.

FORGOTTEN THINGS FOUND AT THE CARRIAGEWORKS on October 1st.

An outstanding new play about finding hope and what happens when it’s taken away comes to The Carriageworks stage on Wednesday 1st October.

Renowned Leeds theatre company Red Ladder’s latest production Forgotten Things is a dark comedy looking at the life of 16-year-old boy, as he loses the will to live.

The new production, part of Red Ladder’s 40th anniversary year, is a fusion of puppetry, innovative theatre and surreal style – written by Emma Adams, one of the north’s top new emerging talents.

Emma Adams, said:
“I wanted to write this play because I think in our fast, fast, faster world, we are so busy trying to make ourselves heard we all struggle to remember that half the battle is just finding a way to listen. No one in this play is evil, but some really bad things happen which could have been so easily avoided… I also wanted to write it because I have to find ways to laugh at terrible things - otherwise it just all gets too much.”

The performance focuses on the life of 16 year old Toby – who decides he’s going to take his own life. Luckily, having forgotten 'something important' his slightly senile Grandmother Lilly interrupts to lead Toby into a mystery of half memories and family secrets, where finding the answers might just save both their lives.

Red Ladder moved to Leeds in the 70’s and is still based in the city. During the 80's the company redefined itself, changing to specialise in targeted work for youth audiences.

Today the company is acknowledged as one of Britain's leading national touring companies producing high quality and challenging new plays for diverse audiences.

Forgotten Things starts its national tour at The Carriageworks on 1st October. Tickets for the show look to be in high demand. Call 0113 224 3801 or visit www.carriageworkstheatre.org.uk for more information.
