From 5th Dec. 2014 to 11th Jan. 2015, “Fabbrica del Vapore” in Milan (via Procaccini 4) will host the project's “Subversion of the Sensible”, presenting the works by nine artists who have participated in the various editions of the ”Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean”: Gruppo A12 (IT), Charbel Samuel Aoun (LB), Embroiderers of actuality (Abdelaziz Zerrou - MA; Aglaia Haritz - CH), Gian Maria Tosatti (IT), Alexandros Kaklamanos (GR), Sigurdur Atli Sigurdsson (IS ), Khaled Jarrar (PS), Didem Erk (TR), Moussa Sarr (F).
The initiative is curated by Marco Trulli and sponsored by the City of Milan. It’s organized by BJCEM, an International not for profit Association founded in 2001 with the aim of promoting artistic creativity of youth, supporting mobility and training. The Biennale dedicated to young artists less than 35 years, coming from the Euro-Mediterranean, fit precisely in this view. The title of the exhibition come from the thesis of Jacques Rancière, who develop a critical reading of the “regimes of information” in The Politics of Aesthetics: The Distribution of the Sensible. Similarly, the exhibition offers a reflection on those art forms that focus on the relationship between art and politics, imagining "new configurations of the visible, the unspeakable and the unthinkable and, therefore, a new landscape of the possible."
In connection with the position of the author in the social, cultural and urban Mediterranean, at the “Fabbrica del Vapore” the artists reflect on the inextricable relationship between the forms of the poetic and the political, producing "necessary fictions" interpretation of reality. The will be using a plurality of media ranging from video installations, photography to embroidery. "Many artists - says Marco Trulli – looks into the relationship between desire and territory, in order to find the necessary tension to produce their own aesthetical investigation: stories of borders and research questioning the public space, projections of future urban planning. Those are the projects that, by interpreting the territories as "desiring machines", reshape geographies and nomadic narratives. From this point of view, the exhibition presents an overview of different approaches and attempts to relate with the reference contexts; so to produce, in fact, listening or reinterpreting devices of the present time.
The Subversion of Sensible is also a geographical and geopolitical itinerary, which knot together some key points of the Mediterranean: from Lampedusa to Gezi Park, from the wall of Jerusalem to the Medina of Tetouan. At the same time, are also presented more intimate researches, working on the personal projection of the artist into the public and social space and imaginary sphere. Among the parallel events, on Monday the 1st, Tuesday the 2nd and Wednesday the 3th December 2014, at the “Fabbrica del Vapore” in Milan, Cladio Zecchi will curate “Practices as an Intersection in a Fragile Environment”. It will be a platform for debates and reflections, structured in three panel discussions, in a perspective that place the artistic practices in the middle of a journey, that has its own reference coordinates in a fragile and precarious territory as the one of the relationship between art and activism. With the participation of: Fokus Grupa (artists, Croatia); Khaled Jarrar (artist, Palestine); Gruppo A12 (artists / architects, Italy); Francesca Guerisoli (art historian and curator, Italy); Isola Art Center (Project, Italy).

Gli artisti, utilizzando una pluralità di media che vanno dal video all’installazione, dalla fotografia al ricamo, si interrogano sulla relazione inestricabile tra le forme del poetico e del politico, producendo “finzioni necessarie” all’interpretazione del reale. In particolare, riflettono sulla posizione dell’autore nel contesto sociale, culturale e urbano mediterraneo.

Dal 5 dicembre 2014 all’11 gennaio 2015, la Fabbrica del Vapore di Milano (via Procaccini 4) ospita il progetto La sovversione del sensibile che presenta le opere realizzate da nove artisti che hanno partecipato alle varie edizioni della Biennale dei Giovani Artisti dell’Europa e del Mediterraneo: Gruppo A12 (IT), Charbel Samuel Aoun (LB), Embroiderers of actuality (Abdelaziz Zerrou - MA; Aglaia Haritz - CH), Gian Maria Tosatti (IT), Alexandros Kaklamanos (GR), Sigurdur Atli Sigurdsson (IS), Khaled Jarrar (PS), Didem Erk (TR), Moussa Sarr (F). L’iniziativa, curata da Marco Trulli, promossa dal Comune di Milano, è organizzata da BJCEM, Associazione Internazionale senza scopo di lucro fondata nel 2001 con l’obiettivo di promuovere la creatività artistica giovanile, supportandone la mobilità e la formazione. Proprio in questa linea progettuale s’inserisce la Biennale dedicata a giovani artisti sotto i 35 anni provenienti dall’area Euro-mediterranea. Il titolo della rassegna trae origine dalle tesi di Jacques Rancière, il quale nel suo La distribuzione del sensibile, compie una lettura critica dei ‘regimi d’informazione’; allo stesso modo, l’esposizione propone una riflessione su quelle forme artistiche che si concentrano sulla relazione tra arte e politica immaginando “nuove configurazioni del visibile, del dicibile e del pensabile e, dunque, un paesaggio nuovo del possibile.” Alla Fabbrica del Vapore, gli artisti, utilizzando una pluralità di media che vanno dal video all’installazione, dalla fotografia al ricamo, si interrogano sulla relazione inestricabile tra le forme del poetico e del politico, producendo “finzioni necessarie” all’interpretazione del reale. In particolare, riflettono sulla posizione dell’autore nel contesto sociale, culturale e urbano mediterraneo. “Molti artisti - afferma Marco Trulli - ricercano nella rapporto tra desiderio e territorio la tensione necessaria per produrre la propria indagine estetica. Storie di confini e ricerche che interrogano lo spazio pubblico, proiezioni della pianificazione urbana futura. Sono quei progetti che, interpretando i territori come “macchine desideranti”, riplasmano geografie e narrazioni nomadi. In questo senso la mostra presenta un panorama differenziato di approcci e tentativi di relazione con i contesti di riferimento producendo, di fatto, dispositivi di ascolto o reinterpretazione del presente.
La Sovversione del Sensibile è anche un itinerario geografico e geopolitico che riannoda alcuni punti nevralgici del Mediterraneo: da Lampedusa a Gezi Park, dal Muro di Gerusalemme alla Medina di Tetouan. Allo stesso tempo, vengono presentate anche ricerche più intime che lavorano sulla proiezione personale dell'artista nello spazio e nell'immaginario pubblico e sociale. Tra le iniziative collaterali, lunedì 1, martedì 2 e mercoledì 3 dicembre 2014, alla Fabbrica del Vapore di Milano, si tiene Practices as an Intersection in a Fragile Environment a cura di Claudio Zecchi, una piattaforma di dibattito e riflessione, strutturato in tre panel discussions, in una prospettiva che pone le pratiche artistiche al centro di un percorso che ha le proprie coordinate di riferimento in un territorio fragile e precario come quello del rapporto tra arte e attivismo.
