Intercommunicating I characterize my work as ‘live’ - creating pieces as modifiable paths in which I use different means of expression to guide (and release) my emotions. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and the surrounding are my breath.
Origins The origins of my work stem from, memories, feelings, the quest, experiences and the intimacy I’ve absorbed through different means such as media, the internet, casual encounters, readings among our civilizations limitless encounters with our past and our technological future. Much of my creative qualities of interaction have derived themselves from my other passion as a set designer for open stage live classical stage productions and performances. Through these experiences, as an artist, I consider the perspective of the audience in inviting them, when they first see the exhibition on stage, into a world of theater, of an intriguing realism, that will only draw them in further as the performance begins.
Adventure Like large stage designs, I envision an adventurous path (to my creations) that suits the particular atmosphere of the place, - constructed across a narrative path that connects the idea of epic and utopia, using their surroundings as a guiding light along the way, absence of clarity. The political and anthropological connotations of my work would derive, not only from the vision expressed above, but also from the choice of materials and media employed. The series of canvases and sculptures (of recycled materials: cardboard, terra-cotta, crude clay, etc) atmospherically alter the esthetic connection of expectations. And through these unexpected connections - from the figurative dimension to the abstract one and vice versa, in the absence of clear lines of demarcation, one experiences another form of clarity. My process in creating attempts to draw references between the relationship of memory to the experiences of action. This overlapping of forms, symbols, signs, references to previous signs and images preserves an original memory (an identity) that segues into an imperfect, crucial experience of creative metamorphosis.
Reconstruction Attentively, and inattentively, my works will evoke an experience of the mind into searching and reconstructing, from visual and tactile steps, what is definitive. The message that I would like to convey, though my work, is that of an infinite multifaceted form of reality, something that leads to an understanding that no choice can ever be thought of as either definitive or conditional.
