XXVIII Pärnu rahvusvaheline dokumentaal- ja antropoloogiafilmide festival
Pärnu Rahvusvaheline Dokumentaal- ja Antropoloogiafilmide Festival on Eesti vanim ja suurim dokfilmide festival, mis asutatud 1987. aastal kunagise EV presidendi ja kirjaniku Lennart Meri ning dokumentalisti Mark Soosaare poolt. Festivali peateemadeks on põlisrahvaste ja nende kultuuride ellujäämine, rituaalide jäädvustamine, portreed inimestest, filmid lastest, loovisikutest ja sotsiaalsetest küsimustest. Traditsiooniliselt toimub festival iga aasta juulis. Filme näidatakse nii kinosaalides kui ETV ekraanil, televaatajail on võimalus valida Eesti Rahva Auhinna vääriline film.
 
 
FESTIVALI PÕHIHETKED:
• Festivali avamine 14. juulil kell 21.00 Pärnu Uue Kunsti Muuseumis (Esplanaadi 10).
• Rahvusvaheline programm ja teised võistlusprogrammid 14. - 20. juuli Pärnus:
Pärnu Vanalinna koolis (Nikolai 26),
Uue kunsti Muuseumis (Esplanaadi 10),
• Huvitavad teemaprogrammid erinevates Eesti paikades 21 - 27. juulil:
Haapsalus, Elvas, Viljandis, Heimtalis, Manijal, Vormsil.
• 5 paeluvat filmi Eesti Televisioonis 14. - 18. juuli.
• Eriseansid teemadel "Lootus sureb viimasena" ning "Autoportreed".
• Uued Eesti dokumentaalfilmid.
• Festivali auhinnatseremoonia 19. juuli hilisõhtul Pärnu Uue Kunsti Muuseumis.

28th Pärnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival
The aim of the festival in general is to support cultural survival of peoples. Only documentary films of high value and quality, recording human activities in social, historical or ecological context are accepted for competition screenings.
 
 
The 28th Pärnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival
July 14 - 27, 2014

Pärnu International Documentary Film Festival, founded in 1987, is the oldest film festival in Estonia.

The aim of the festival in general is to support cultural survival of peoples. Only documentary films of high value and quality, recording human activities in social, historical or ecological context are accepted for competition screenings.

Main subjects: Human Interest, Social Issues, Art, Music, Culture, Survival of Indigenous Cultures, Docs for Kids, Author's POV.

The festival is held every July.

An international jury awards the grand prix for the best film.

Since 1999, a separate competition has been held for films, that will be broadcast in Estonian Television (Estonian People's Award).
