Strøm is considered the premier electronic music event in Scandinavia, featuring a wide selection of events held all over Copenhagen. Strøm is more than just a party. Strøm is a festival that can and will do more than just present a band on stage. The musical profile is focused on quality above quantity, and the festival draws an audience of both young and old, families with children, hardcore ravers and nerdy crate diggers.
Strøm is a Danish festival for electronic music running on August 11-17, 2014.
The festival was established in 2007, and is held at various venues around Copenhagen (indoors and outdoors) celebrating all aspects and genres of electronic music. The festival runs for seven days, and featured 61 events held at 21 venues with 171 artists last year.
The Strøm festival week is divided into three main categories of 1) workshops, master classes and artist talks, 2) concerts, raves and events, and 3) outdoors concerts in Enghaveparken – one of the nicest parks in central Copenhagen. Strøm presents the newest and most iconic electronic music of both local and international origin. Strøm is a festival with great international appeal and attention, and is also an extraordinary snap- shot of the trends and tendencies that currently define the electronic music culture in Denmark and abroad. Strøm’s vision is through activities, sparring and networks to support, strengthen and unite the Danish electronic music scene. With a focus on quality, Strøm means to spread awareness of electronic music as well as positioning Copenhagen regionally, nationally and internationally as home to a significant and leading electronic music culture.
