Dep Art Gallery presents a selection of works from the sixties of big, middle and small dimensions. The works come from the artist's own private collection as well as from the Gallery collection. «Simeti's research is not just an aesthetical one, but also an ethical project lasting a life-time. The circularity of his project turns out in the shape of the ellipse, a geometrical shape which can expand and multiply itself. The ellipse contains in itself the concept of stability without being static, of analogy without being equal, the ellipse is the idea which supports and stays underneath the conceptual craftmanship of Simeti since the Sixties.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue with texts by Alberto Zanchetta.

La galleria Dep Art propone una selezione di opere degli anni ’60 di grande, medio e piccolo formato. Opere considerate inedite provenienti dalla collezione privata dell’artista e dalla collezione della Galleria. «Quella di Simeti non è solo una ricerca estetica, ma un progetto etico che lo impegna da tutta la vita. La circolarità di tale progetto si enuclea – non a caso – nell’elissi, forma che ha in sé la capacità di espandersi o moltiplicarsi: elemento strutturale ondivago, analogo e mai identico. L’ellissi è, innanzitutto, un concetto che “sostiene”, che “sta sotto e dietro” alla prassi concettuale di Turi Simeti sin dagli anni Sessanta».

La mostra sarà corredata da un catalogo con testi di Alberto Zanchetta.
