“La Kilbième des Editions” and summer are coming! A little bit of hot pleasure in the good times we live in but often can’t find.

Some well-known names symbolize the different colors in a chain of lights. My Bloody Valentine, The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear and Jozef van Wissem & Jim Jarmusch shine bright. They’ve all written music, accumulated stories, traveled far and wide, and have seen numerous films. They probably would have come up with the idea to invite Thee Oh Sees, Liars, Death Grips, Jandek and Kurt Vile all by themselves. Some of our local and national favorites such as Julian Sartorius, Rotkeller, Domi Chansorn, Evelinn Trouble or Minimetal belong to us like the Kilbi does to Dan Deacon, Gold Panda, Andy Scott, Fucked Up or Brass Drum of Death. The releases of Allah Las, Camera or Trust are among the biggest and the best discoveries of 2012. The entire program speaks for itself and is exactly what it’s intended to be. There’s nothing more to ask for; everything fits as it’s rarely done before. All the greats are coming together. There’s a familiar atmosphere to it: tacky, brutish, small, loud, relaxed, electronic, gigantic, – Bad Bonn and music on the village square and everywhere. Fitz, Fett and Marcelle are the names of the record spinners at the end. All hell will break loose on the dance-floor and wherever you are, the magic will catch up with you.

That’s the Kilbi, that’s the Kilbi and that’s the Kilbi. Somehow, we don’t care about anything else. We are opposed to specialization. The audience surpasses the accepted knowledge of pop music and fashion. The hipsters are the slaves. With their style, wit, charm and a hint of politics on a common ground with the un-deliberately, badly dressed, this is going to be the most beautiful party a story can tell.

In the end, nothing is more important to us than completing many tasks with our beloved Kilbi in mind. We thank all of you and above all, our volunteers, with all our heart. This is going to be a celebration and “our music” will be your theme.

Again and again: Un-commercial and money grubbing. As ever: Rock’nRoll – what else?
