IFEMA 2012 offers three days of films – documentaries, features and shorts.

The battle for the world's resources, religious conflicts and territorial claims put world peace in danger. Women have always been active in the work for peace. Film has been used and is being used to show the cruelty of the war and has been a part of campaigning against armed conflict.

Most of us have seen war portrayed in violent action films directed by men. How are female filmmakers depicting the face of war? Who are the main characters and in what way do their story affect ourselves as spectators? During this year´s festival you will have the possibility to see depictions of ongoing conflicts, post-war existence and also the impact armed conflict has on the common man – a human being like you and me. The films we have chosen do not shy away from the destructive violence of war and conflicts, but all of them demonstrate a faith in the future, that we, each one of us, can make a difference.
