Since 2001 Prague Fringe regularly brings an eclectic mixture of theatre, music and dance right in the middle of the historical heart of the Czech capital. This year´s edition will turn Malá Strana into the Czech Broadway and will offer you more than 240 performances.
"The Prague Fringe Festival started off 11 years ago. A lot has happened since then, and now as we enter a new decade in the life of the Fringe - it's audience has grown with it, as has the amount of Czech productions in the programme. Although the Fringe has roots in English speaking theatre, I'm excited at how it's developing a truly Czech twist and establishing itself as a unique multi-lingual and multi-cultural event in Prague's cultural calendar" says, Steve Gove, the director of Prague Fringe.
The original Fringe was established in Edinburgh in 1947 and until now has the privileged to call itself the biggest theatre festival in the world. The famous festival´s Czech “naughty grandchild” does not want to be the biggest or the best in the world, but to introduce the English spoken theatre production to the Czech audience and put it in contrast with the Czech theatre traditions. Prague Fringe festival is very well known amongst the visitors for its nice, friendly and intimate atmosphere. We, the organizers try to create a live platform for artistic and cultural dialogue between audience and the artists regardless their gender, nationality, religion or sexual preferences.
All the shows emphasize the visual aspects of expression and their duration ranges between 40 up to 60 minutes. They will offer you a different perspective than what you are used to and we guarantee you full enjoyment. Moreover you can see as many shows during one night as you are capable of. The prices are low, just keep up with the flow. The tickets can be purchased in advance through ticketstream.cz and/or at the door of each of the venues.
Do not hesitate and book yourselves a cultural adventure, because we simply know that one is not going to be enough.
During Prague Fringe 2012 you will have the chance to see artists and performers from Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Canada, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom and U.S.A.
