DONAUFESTIVAL 2011 "NODES, ROOTS & SHOOTS"

28|04 - 07|05 Krems a.d. Donau / Austria

Nodes, shoots and roots: The seventh edition of the donaufestival brings the festival’s content-related construction plan into the fore and makes it its motto. Depicting and tapping artistic networks, but also connecting different artistic media, forming intellectual cross-references has been the central concern of the donaufestival since its inception.
Two central networks define the first weekend: the project “THE SOUND AND THE FURY” by Ben Frost, as part of which he has invited ten different projects, and the performance network “NEW BLACK” by GINTERSDORFER/KLASSEN, which examines cultural differences with Ivorian and European artists from the fields of theatre, dance, performance, fine art, music and club culture.
The central networks of the second weekend will be a project with CARLA BOZULICH and guests, as well as the performance installation “KINDERTOTENLIEDER” by renowned, young French theatre maker GISÈLE VIENNE (featuring dancers, dolls, robots and a live band consisting of Stephen O’Malley and Peter Rehberg).
