The 10th edition of Club To Club, Torino International Festival of Electronic Music and Arts, will take place from 4th to 7th November 2010 in Torino and from 3rd to 5th November in Istanbul, with previews in Milan on 21th and 23rd October and in Rome on 2nd October. Torino, Istanbul and Milan will be united by Club To Club sounds and performances, in one of the year's most eagerly awaited international electronic music events.

After ten years of accurate programming and a consolidated attitude in experimenting, as showed by its increasing success in terms of attendance – over 20,000 people from all over Italy and Europe in 2009 – Club To Club is ready to celebrate an edition with some artistic contents ready to put it amongst the most important events of electronic music globally.




Line-up and Special Projects



Many of the showcases and performances featured will be special previews, in a line-up aiming to represent the new decade's cutting edge.

Never in such a way Club To Club has aimed, with a well-rounded vision, to the more futuristic sounds in the contemporary music scene: acclaimed and visionary "techno" musicians such as Jeff Mills and James Holden, add up to some of the most appreciated names in the genre's new generation, like Marcel Dettmann and Shed; Shackleton and Kode9 (the latter also performing an exclusive set dedicated to Burial's new and unreleased repertoire), prime movers in the dubstep scene, are joined by some of the most promising acts in its new forms: King Midas Sound, Joy Orbison and Actress; Jamie XX dj set, together with Caribou and Four Tet's fresh crossover are balanced by Riva Starr's Balkan and funk-flavoured take on house music, Plaid's project with the Southbank Gamelan Players and the mysterious Oni Ayhun, while some artists in the programme -Modeselektor, Darkstar, Floating Points, Oneohtrix Point Never are simply escaping common genre definitions.

A symbol of Torino's role in cultural avantgarde




The first locations confirmed are extraordinary places such as Museum of Natural Science, Teatro Carignano, Mirafiori Motor Village, Lingotto Fiere in Torino, as well as Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro in Milan and Santral in Istanbul.

In the Festival week, Torino will be a capital city of arts also thanks to Artissima, Prospettiva del Teatro Stabile, Luci d’Artista, Torino European Youth Capital 2010, ContemporaryArt Torino Piemonte, Premio 2061 together with Italia 150.

After twinning with Berlin (2006), Barcelona (2007), Rotterdam (2008) and Bruxelles (2009), this year Club To Club will land in Istanbul, presenting a three-night programme for Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture.





Welcome to the X Superstition



After establishing an imaginary "State of Indepen/Dance" in 2009, Club To Club introduces a new theme for this year's edition, "The X Superstition": the choice between magic, superstition and rationality will be the leitmotif of the Festival's 10th anniversary, at the start of the 2010s.

Once again the Festival will be the ideal meeting point between different arts, people, cities and superstitions!

All the Festival's venues, the complete programme and the special projects will be gradually introduced in the next weeks.

Il decennale di Club To Club, festival internazionale di musiche e arti elettroniche, si svolgerà dal 4 al 7 novembre 2010 a Torino e in contemporanea dal 3 al 5 novembre a Istanbul, con un’anticipazione a Milano, il 21 e 23 ottobre e a Roma il 2 ottobre. Torino, Istanbul e Milano saranno unite dalle sonorità e dalle performance di Club To Club, appuntamento internazionale tra i più importanti e attesi per gli appassionati di musica e cultura elettronica.

Dopo dieci anni di attenta progettazione e sperimentazione, riconosciute dal crescente successo di pubblico - più di ventimila presenze da tutta Italia e dall’Europa nel 2009 - Club To Club si appresta a celebrare un'edizione i cui contenuti artistici lo proiettano tra i maggiori eventi di musica elettronica a livello mondiale.





Line-up e progetti speciali



Molti gli showcase e le performance che verranno presentati in anteprima, a completare una line up che vuole rappresentare le avanguardie sonore del nuovo decennio.
Mai come quest'anno l'obiettivo di Club To Club è rivolto a 360 gradi verso i suoni più avvenieristici del panorama musicale contemporaneo: ad alcuni dei più qualificati esponenti della techno più visionaria, come Jeff Mills e James Holden, si aggiungono alfieri della nuova generazione come Marcel Dettmann e Shed; a Shackleton e Kode9 (quest'ultimo presenterà anche un set esclusivo dedicato al repertorio di Burial), promotori originari della scena dubstep, si sovrappongono alcuni dei suoi più giovani e promettenti talenti (King Midas Sound, Joy Orbison, Actress); al dj set di Jamie degli XX e al nuovo crossover di Caribou e Four Tet fanno da contrappunto la house speziata di sapori funk e balcanici di Riva Starr, il progetto dei Plaid accompagnati dai Southbank Gamelan Players e le elaborazioni del misterioso Oni Ayhun, per arrivare ad artisti che semplicemente sfuggono alle definizioni più comuni (Modeselektor, Darkstar, Floating Points, Oneohtrix Point Never).

Nella settimana del festival, Torino è capitale artistica grazie a Club To Club, Artissima, Prospettiva del Teatro Stabile, Luci d’Artista, Torino Capitale Europea dei Giovani 2010, ContemporaryArt Torino Piemonte, Premio 2061 insieme a Italia 150.

Inoltre, dopo i gemellaggi artistici con Berlino (2006), Barcellona (2007), Rotterdam (2008) e Bruxelles (2009), quest’anno Club To Club sarà a Istanbul, con tre serate e numerose produzioni innovative, nell'anno di Istanbul capitale europea della cultura.
