Angelika Burtscher is partner of the design studio Lupo & Burtscher and founded in 2003 the project and exhibition platform Lungomare together with designer Daniele Lupo. Both activities are based in Bolzano. The studio develops a wide range of design projects, and is above all interested – in exchange with Lungomare – in the multidisciplinary approach to design. Lupo & Burtscher develops communication campaigns, book designs, corporate identities and communication projects in public space, mainly for clients from cultural and social contexts, and works in direct contact with artists and curators to realise exhibition designs and catalogues. Furthermore, the studio collaborates with various companies and galleries in designing products and limited editions. Lupo & Burtscher also develops cultural projects for non-conventional exhibition spaces, galleries and institutions, inquiring into connections to other fields by means of various projects.

Occupation:
LUNGOMARE
In 2003 Lungomare opened as an experimental and project related platform to rethink and give space to the interdisciplinary aspects among design, architecture, urban planning, art and theory. Lungomare initiates projects connecting different disciplines, so as to work together exploring aspects of cultural production and sociopolitical issues and questioning the relationship between design, architecture and art and its physical, social and political environment. Lectures, talks, screenings, exhibitions and projects inside the Gallery, as well as exhibitions in non-conventional or public spaces and publications, form the framework of the Lungomare Gallery’s program.
