With a diploma at the Liceo Artistico di Lecce, she graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce in 1993 with the thesis of intaglio printmaking in popular prints and on publishing of the sacred and profane Remondini of Bassano del Grappa.
In October of that year Dores moved to Rome for a stay that lasted ten years. From 1993 to 1994 she specialised in experimental techniques of engraving at the International Engravers Association, as a student of Luce Delhove, Riccardo Licata, Amy Worten, Nicola Sene, following also the course of illustrated graphics and the “Artist Book” with the poets Joice Lussu and Simonetta Lux. A winner of two scholarships offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, she represented Italy in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 1995 and Prague in 1997.
In Luxembourg, Dores attended the Academy of Fine Arts with an internship in the techniques of engraving and lithography on stone, as a student of Martha Klonowska and Ondrej Michalek. In Prague, she attended the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design, studying stone lithography, graphic illustration and the artist book, with Mikulas Axmann and Jiri Šalomoun.
Dores taught engraving techniques in private practice in Rome from 1994 to 2002, supporting the organisation of exhibitions and curatorial work in Italy and abroad. As an artist, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and art fairs since 1990.
Dores has produced numerous works of copperplate engraving, artist books, folders and editions, design works, photographs, installations, painting, etc.
Some of her works are available on site, others are in private and public collections in Italy and abroad, including: Zemplínska Museum, Michalovce, Slovakia; MIMI (International Museum of Micro Engraving); European Club for the Propagation of the Arts, Luxembourg; Grafiky Atelier, Prague; Biennale Internazionale d'Arte, Rome; Commune di Velletri; Commune of Rome; Museum of Science and Arts of Sobotka, Czech Republic; Academy of Fine Arts in Prague; City of Spoleto, and others.
In 2003 Dores moved to Lecce, her hometown, where she co-founded with Maria Rosaria the Primo Piano LivinGallery, Combining her curatorial work with the teaching of engraving techniques (complete CV on available upon request).
Occupation:
Curator and critic of the gallery. She has curated and written critical reviews of art exhibitions since 1994. Dores lived in Rome for ten years, assisting the teaching of the technique of art, administration and the organisation of art exhibitions. She has curated numerous exhibitions of international artists and has written critical essays for catalogues and art books.
